WES - ECA process for Gujarat Technological University. IRCC requirement

What is WES-ECA and Why is it needed?

  • World Education Services (WES) is authorized by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to evaluate the foreign degrees/ diplomas(Earned outside from canada).
  • Educational Credential Assessments (ECAs) is the evaluation process of the degrees /diplomas which generates report at the end of the process that your degree/ diplomas equivalent to canadian degree/diploma.
  • ECA is needed because it the essential document for the process of your IRCC- PR process pathways including CEC, PNP, Agri-Food immigration pilot etc.

How to create account in WES?

  • Select CANADA.
  • Select ECA Application for IRCC or your choice of application.
  • put your email id and create account by filling your details and making payment (around 260 CAD). 
    Charges- WES

  • You will get 6 digit transit number. Save it because it is needed for all the future communications.

How to get transcript directly from GTU and send it to WES?

☝STEP-1:

  • Click the checkbox - By Post.
  • Put your Address which is on your govt ID like Aadhar card, Driving license etc.

✌STEP-2:
step-2

  1. Select Zone from Drop down- Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat 
  2. Type of CERTIFICATE: Transcript
  3. Student Wants GTU to send the Electronic copy of Transcript to WES directly ? - "YES"
  4. WES reference number: Put 6 digit number (transit number you have gotten at the time of application from WES)
  5. Upload ID proof.* - ** Please upload jpg , jpeg , bmp , png & gif file less than 1 MB
  6. Upload degree certificate.*- ** Please upload jpg , jpeg , bmp , png & gif file less than 1 MB++
  7. Submit and pay the amount for the transcript copies.( 1st copy  - 250 , extra copy -50 per copy in INR)
Make sure you checkmark "YES" on the question to send the copy to WES.

GTU will send the copy to WES online directly and you will also get the requested copies of transcript in post.

How to get ECA report?

  • WES will notify you when they will receive the documents from your institute.
  • They will also notify you for the each step time by time.
  • It will take Up to 35 days to process your documents.- My process was completed within 3 days.
  • IRCC will directly get E-copy of the report and you will get the paper copy of the report by canada post.
  • Your last status on the WES site should be:

      These are the recent screenshots. But I think, you have seen the old videos.
      You may order documents and send directly to WES rather than sending the courier. It is easy and convenient.

    7.Submit and pay the amount for the transcript copies.( 1st copy - 250 , extra copy -50 per copy in INR)


    For the above steps , the transcript copy will be one or it depends on how many total marksheet we have ? and we need to calculate on that basis.

    For eg. I have 8 marksheet for 8 sems . so i need to pay 250* 8
    OR
    for 1 copy , just i need to pay 250 ?

    Hello Parth,

    For WES , You have to pay 250 rs for 1 copy of transcript which have all the data from sem 1 to 8. But if you want extra copies of the same transcript then you have to pay 50 / copy.

    So you just need to pay 250 for full transcript. (NOT 250*8)

    I did exactly what you described above.

    When I was selecting Transcript, there were multiple options -
    1. Transcript (soft copy only)
    2. Transcript (hard copy only)
    3. Transcript (soft copy and hard copy)

    So, I went for 3rd option. And the total was ₹450/-.

    It’s been 3 days. I got a message from GTU -

    Your Transcript (Both Hard Copy And Soft Copy) Certificate is Dispatched through Post.

    When am I supposed to get an update from WES? My status is still ON HOLD!

    Am I still missing something in the process?

      They recently added the new options.. soft copy, hard copy and both.

      You will get your hard copy of transcript at the saved address on GTU portal.

      Soft copy will be delivered directly to WES. Then your status oN WES site will be "we have received your documents".

      I think, you are not missing anything. The regular timeframe to process your WES is 35 days but 35 days will start, after receiving your documents from university .

    I obtained a CGPA 6.02 (55%) on my Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from GTU. What grade can I expect after WES USA evaluation?
